# Flammarion engraving ![The caption of the illustration reads: "A medieval missionary tells that he had found the place where Heaven and Earth met…"](<../images/FlammarionWoodcut.webp>) The [Flammarion](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flammarion_engraving) engraving is a famous illustration that appeared in Camille Flammarion's book *"L'Atmosphère: Météorologie Populaire"* (Paris, 1888).
